Special Funding Resources for the Master of Science in Biostatistics

The Biostatistics graduate program at UC San Diego offers special funding sources specific to master's students to support degree progress and research opportunities. Below features various funding sources that can be award to eligible students. We also encourage students to review additional funding resources provided by the Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs.

Admissions Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to prospective students of our Master of Science in Biostatistics program, who demonstrate excellence and promise in Biostatistics, and whose presence will enhance the overall strength of the program. Applicants do not need to apply for this scholarship; it is awarded upon being granted admission to those as determined by the admissions committee. The award is meant to cover all, or most of, tuition costs for the first academic year, and is eligible for renewal during the second academic year, so long as the student maintains good academic standing.

Julie Soo Master's Degree Scholarship

The fund is to provide support for the benefit of Master's degree students in Physical Sciences or Statistics who have been or are using their analytical skills toward social justice and civic engagement. Due date TBD.

Travel Grant

Each academic year, the Biostatistics program awards several travel grants. These funds are meant to support travel and accommodation costs for students attending conferences. Priority will be given to those presenting scholarly work. Consideration will be given to those who are solely attending a conference in their first year of studies.
