Camille Nebeker, EdD

Dr. Nebeker is a professor in the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. She directs the UC San Diego Research Ethics Program and is the founding Executive Director of the ReCODE Health. Dr. Nebeker applies a human centered design approach to examine the ethical and social implications of emerging technologies used in health research including pervasive sensing, social media platforms and artificial intelligences. Key areas of study include risk assessment, informed consent, and return of individual level research results. Her research has received support from federal, foundation and industry sources.
