For staff and student worker HR, per the Health Sciences model all services are provided by the Health HR service core. The HR core also supports volunteer process paperwork. Please contact them at 619-543-3200 or you can submit your question/request through their website https://hshr.ucsd.edu/tools/Pages/default.aspx. Please confirm funding with your fund manager for new appointments, increases in time or % appointment, or promotions. In working with the HR service core staff and groups, should you need to contact the manager level, please contact Jim Ryan, Director of Operations & Service Solutions, 619-543-3165, j9ryan@ucsd.edu Janet Kamerman is the Chief of Health HR, including the HR service core. You can also reach out to Randy Brooks with broad / programmatic concerns with or thoughts on our utilization of the HR services.

Health HR Shared Service (HHR)

With the exception of requests for Reduction in Time and Layoffs, all HR actions and services are provided directly by the Health HR Shared Service (HHR).  HHR also supports volunteer process paperwork. Please consult with your fund manager prior to requesting new appointments, increases in time, or promotions.

Health Human Resources

  • To submit a new case or follow up on an existing case, please log-in to the HHR using your UC San Diego Active Directory login, or contact them at (619) 543-3200.
  • To check the status of any HR case(s), click "My Actions" in the upper right corner of the HHR homepage.
  • Should you need to speak with someone at a manager level within with the HR core, please contact the following:

Health IT Support

Health IT Support

The Health Sciences - Technology Services Charge (HS-TSC) provides information technology services to faculty, investigators, and staff at UC San Diego School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. These services include:

Service Desk Support

  • Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist with any information technology issue or request
  • Analyzes and resolves requests, or escalates to specific technology or application resolution, via phone, teleconference, or other mechanisms to provide status tracking, escalation, and quick resolution

Desktop, Computer/laptop, Shared Drive Support

  • Procures and deploys desktop computers and laptops
  • Maintains and updates all software, configuration, and patches of all computers
  • Provides in-person assistance if the issue cannot be fixed remotely
  • Manages communication platforms (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Lync) and collaboration platforms (e.g. SharePoint)
