Additionally, no student should be enrolled in more than 18 units. Until the first day of classes, students can only be enrolled and waitlisted for a combined max total of 19.5 units. Lastly, Public Health strongly recommends no more than 2-3 science/math/statistics courses in the fall. It is important to diversify your course schedule each quarter.

(Students wanting a more detailed resource can check out our FA24 COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS - TRAN Handout after reviewing below)

FALL 2024 PRIORITY COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS:

We strongly encourage all transfer students to enroll in four classes this Fall quarter. This helps you make academic progress, but it also provides you the opportunity to drop a class if necessary while staying a full-time student.

Please note that if you do not complete PH 40 and a Statistics class (if you have not already completed one) this Fall quarter, you will not be able to complete the Public Health major.

In Fall 2024, you MUST take:

  • PH 40 (unless completing FMPH 40 this summer)
  • 1 Statistics course (if you have not already completed this requirement)

We strongly recommend that you consider taking PH 91, PH 98 and/or PH 157 this Fall as well if it works with your schedule and there are available seats during enrollment. NOTE: Students must submit an Enrollment Authorization System (EASy) request to enroll or waitlist in one of these courses for fall quarter.

In addition to the recommendations above, you should consider:

  • College GEs: Calculus/Chemistry/Physics (Revelle), MCWP 125 (Muir), UD Disciplinary Breadth (TMC), WCWP 100 and UD Non-Contiguous (Warren), MMW 121 & 122 (ERC), CAT 125 (Sixth), SYN 100 (Seventh)
    • Ask your College if you have any questions regarding College GEs that you could enroll in for FA24.
  • Any additional outstanding Lower Division major requirements (see below to verify courses)
  • An Upper Division Elective for your major
  • Any prerequisites for your desired profession, such as General or Organic Chemistry or Physics

IMPORTANT NOTE: All Pre-Health track students should review the FA24 PRE-HEALTH - TRAN Handout. Students should attend zoom drop-in advising hours and/or reach out to Public Health in the VAC if unsure which Pre-Health courses they should be enrolling in this fall.

PLEASE NOTE: All students MUST be enrolled in at least 12 units (not including waitlisted courses). Do not waitlist for too many courses.
